Parental Wisdom...

Do you remember your parents wise counsel growing up? This weekend has been super relaxing which is just what I needed. No stress. No work. No nothing. But I noticed a few things as I was laying around the past three days. My parents voice is in my head a lot. Silly things. Not so silly things. Here are a few that come to mind.

Leaving the refrigerator door open ... "Meghan, are you trying to cool the neighborhood?"

Walking around my house realizing that every light is on, "must we burn every light bulb".

Entering my not-so-clean bedroom, "In your house you can have your room look any way you want {apparently, I took this advice seriously}, but in our house, you will keep it clean".

(PS: when does the adult cleanliness kick in? I am still waiting)

and then I remember the silly ones "eat your crust, it puts hair on your chest". This one came from my father... almost every time we didn't want to eat something. Hair on your chest? Really?? I'm a girl. I don't want hair on my chest. But I get what he meant and thus, I eat the crust on my PB&J.

When my little pupster gets into trouble "silly puppy". My dad was notorious for excusing little doggie mishaps by uttering those two words. And I do as well.

I love knowing that my parents didn't just teach the little things growing up, they still hang around my head reminding me of those little things.

Happy Sunday people!
